Biopic of Hadratussyaikh KH Hasyim Asyari, a freedom fighter and one of the founder of Nahdlatul Ulama.
Japanese occupation is no better than the Dutch. Japan began banning the raising of Indonesian national flag, banning Indonesia Raya songs and forcing Indonesian people to do Sekerei (respect for the Sun). KH. Hasyim Asyari as a religious figure refused to do Sekerei because the action deviated from the Islamic aqeedah. Because of this action, Japan captured KH. Hasyim Asyari. KH. Wahid Hasyim, one of his sons, sought a diplomatic way to free him. Unlike Harun, one of the KH. Hasyim Asyari students who believes that the method of violence can solve the problem. Harun gathered the strength of the moslem students to conduct a demonstration demanding the freedom of KH. Hasyim Asyari. But it is wrong because the method actually only adds more casualties. By peaceful means KH. Wahid Hasyim successfully won diplomacy against the Japanese and KH. Hasyim Asyari was released. It turned out that the struggle against Japan did not end here. Japan forced the Indonesian people to bestow their produce. Japan uses Masyumi chaired by KH. Hasyim Asy'ari to encourage farming. Even the appeal was tucked into Friday prayer.
